Monthly Meeting Number One Skype Takeaways
Hello all, it was so lovely listening to all the dialogue of those present on Sunday. My takeaways are authenticity of voice, education vs knowledge and their connection, as well as making room for experience and "confusion". Authenticity of teaching is important for ourselves and students. We do not always remember the exact material or follow the rules exactly. In essence that is what makes us human. Personally I enjoy more real time authentic connections and present moving energy than set rules and forced technique/nomenclature. Personally there seems to be easier to grow and learn in these types of environments. It is important to be able to just be at times. More often than not others will resonate with the authentic self in periods of learning and sharing. It is in those present moments of giving from authentic and empathetic places that we find the light bulb moments and calm energies. Usually this is when we are in our "zone" so to speak, when we are not forcing agendas on ourselves or others. Sometimes ballet and even society can place pressure on humans to always be on go and perfect mode. However it is a beautiful gift to allow things to come and go. to share. give. grow. learn. in a natural progression. It may not always reap a picture perfect class, day, or idea but sometimes we gain something much greater. That may be a sense of self, a new ideology, a new question, or a new level of presence. Whatever it may be it is such gift to hold space in a forgiving manner. This type of thinking and reasoning may come across as forgetful or may feel like lost moments however these are the moments we can just be. When we are present and authentic we can reap such beautiful, healing, and growing energies which can then be shared with our students, colleagues, or connections. Just a thought... would love to hear all of your opinions
